Ok, you've got a point there. I think lots of people agree the law in Italy is fukked up. Especially the people who live there. The folk that do the backward-ass shyt in or outside of the law shouldn't reflect on the rest of society.

Friend, most of us in here are shaking our heads because the Supreme Court just essentially did away with the "outside of the law" part of your statement. That absolutely reflects on society.

Berlusconi's media exploided this news a lot when it came out a month ago.

But the fact is Berlusconi was convicted just with 1 year for having sex with a minor, and everything else for the incitement to prostitution of a minor.

Our supreme court has some strange idea of a female consent.

Back in 1999 it had the idea that a woman in jeans cannot be raped: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/277263.stm

Italy's highest court has ruled that a woman wearing jeans cannot be raped.
The Supreme Court of Appeal in Rome on Wednesday overturned a rape conviction, saying that the supposed victim must have agreed to sex because her jeans could not have been removed without her consent.

On the other hand, the law has been Italian only savior from the political elite, too often in the hands of mafia and Vatican.

The law here is not perfect, but it has a good feature in the indipendence of prosecution from the politics: the same person can be a prosecutor in one case and a judge in another. The system helps start some cases, that can be stopped at a prosecution level in some other countries.

They just threw out entire concepts of consent, maturity of the mind, and biology.

Primitive country. Has any state in the History of the West ever fallen off like Italy has? They are the Arkansas of Europe.

There are spots in Eastern Europe that are in the ballpark, too.

Naw I came in here to clown Italy as well :lolbron:

Let's just not act like this is a "cac" phenomenon
A poor region with no laws money and a real government i can see how that would happen. A nation that is bringing in Trillions of dollars per year, i just expect more in terms of civilization. Italy is a pathetic nation.
