Looking back, it was a blessing in disguise for them. And anyway, the mavs would have been destroyed by the nuggets or the grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs last year. They were the softest team in the west and had the worst front court in the west as well.

That was ridiculously overblown. They weren't gonna make the playoffs anyway and even if they did, they had the worst front court in the league. They had no chance.

Meanwhile, everyone was crickets when OKC tanked for years and kept sitting SGA when nothing was wrong with him. Portland tanked two straight second halves with Dame on the team and nothing. Everybody tanks. I never understood why Dallas of all teams caught flack for doing what everybody else has done and only for two games.

When people say Gobert might be played off the floor, this might be the series for that. Wolves' aggressive trap defense against the Nuggets will work the opposite effect on the Mavs, it would make them out of position for the Mavs' open 3s and lob dunks. Mavs have a 10x more dynamic offense than the Nuggets. Plus Mavs matchup hunt 10x better than the Nuggets as well

Plus I feel Lou Dort is a better/smarter defender on Luka than Jaden McDaniels is
Wolves' are known for dumb fouls. And if they thought Nuggets were foul baiters, they will not be prepared for the Mavs

Had Mavs in 7. The Wolves couldn't have faced a more complete 180 type of team, going from the Nuggets to the Mavericks

Minnesota just didn't have much left in the tank after that Denver series.

Dallas was the better team, period

Good season but awful way to end it. Wolves built themselves up to get past Denver but that was their finals apparently. Dallas played great. Their stars played like stars. Derek Jones and their bigs had Ant really locked up with nowhere to go. Mavs were just the better team who played better basketball.

Hopefully the Olympics is the next level up for Ant. Being around a bunch of those legends who have won, hopefully he can pick up on anything else he's missing. Still a young team but this felt like the year to do something when the west was in flux.

Not a fan of Luka or the Mavs organization but they are playing such high level basketball, I hope it continues for them. 2 straight years losing to the champ in the playoffs consolation prize
