I'm a Nets fan and even I gotta say it's not true. It's been a great start and a lot of it is the newness of it which attracts the fairweather fans who don't have a team, they just kinda like the new thing. The real test will be next season when the shine is off, who will stick around and who will go back to the Knicks or just back to wavering between teams.

But the Knicks still dominate fanbase wise, the numbers are still not even close and if you think about it shouldn't be. The Knicks have generations of fans, New Jersey didn't exactly have tons of people passing the fandom down to their sons and daughters. Over time if the Nets stay good they can get a solid fanbase, and that would be a huge improvement over the tumbleweeds at IZOD center.
