Of course its not a literal vacation, I used that to illustrate how much of a cake walk it is. Especially considering that almost everywhere else in the world prisoners are punished instead of being catered to as a means of reforming them.

It just seems like bootcamp or rehab for criminals, but if it works than it is a method that needs to be duplicated in the United States.

It's still prison. HAving your freedom taken away from you and being told when to eat, sleep, shyt, shower, and shave is something nobody wants.

Also if their crime rates are that low Im pretty sure they have a pretty good standard of living and overall quality of life for most of it's citizens therefore there wouldn't be a need to commit crime just to survive. A decent majority of their criminals are probably off mentally or just greedy.

Its Europe, so they probably actually have been studying the prisoners with the actual intent of rehabilitation and punishment with the intent of using the data. In the US, we just punish. Their system seems to work better for them. Our system doesn't seem to work that well for us.
