Took a higher paying job working outside the home and I regret it. I left on good terms and honestly might reach back out lol. Otherwise I'm looking for something else. This job is cool, but I really miss being home when my kids got home from school and being able to talk with them and my kids while I worked. That was a real blessing

How much more are you making?

Did you ever approach old job about hybrid?

Do you get the sense that the new job is one of those "100% in the office" type places? If the money is much much better I would stay at the new place, exceed every expectation for the rest of your kids school year and a couple weeks before summer vacation is over, casually approach a trusted supervisor about whether a hybrid situation is feasible.

I dont know you breh but it always warms my heart when I see brehs talk about how much they enjoy being with their kids and being willing to make professional sacrifices to make sure that time isn't lost. I have kids myself so I truly understand/sympathize. But right now, CASH is KING. The life you will be able to provide for your kids will depend on it. And the future is very unsteady. You have to do whatever you can to make sure you always have options. In fall of 2019 no one would've predicted a worldwide pandemic that was going to fundamentally turn the world economy upside down. The people who had CASH are 10 steps ahead of where they would've been had nothing happened. The people who didn't have cash were only able to stay afloat bc of government intervention, which is now being blamed for the reason why those same people can't afford eggs. This SVB bank went from flying high to wiped out in a matter of HOURS. This is the time to make that sacrifice and just STACK CASH.

Only thing to watch out for is the new voice modulators that give Dupinder and the boys American accents :beli:
Yes it’s a real thing :francis:
Yea, but the cultural difference is the game changer; some of these guys (and Philippines) can't get out the way of the script
man 2 weeks ago i just jacked of when i was WFH and i was like jesus i'm jacking off and getting paid for it.

:blessed:
is your company hiring?
Hours on end cooped in the house:patrice: i do it every once in while but even as a introvert its too much
very true. I used to HATE WFH; now, I prefer it as I can juggle different things; but if you have a strong team nothing beats working with them and making work ife easier (working, bantering, learning from someone else, learning of a new place to eat/chill after work)

Not if you have friends to talk to throughout the day. But I know some people consider coworkers they are friends, so they look forward to going to the office.

It seems that local governmental agencies are more flexible than the federal ones. I work for a major cities local government and there are some departments that are still 100% remote, some that are 100% in office. I have to go in twice a week and I think it's bullshyt as I can typically knock my work out in a few hours. But it's better than having to go in every day which might be coming. If it does I'm looking to transfer to another department.
The defense department wants everyone in office.

Some non-DoD agencies are more flexible. But DoD fed employees is over a third of all federal workers.

I work 1 day a week but most of my other departments are 2 days a week. It’s up to each department head.

Every time im in office and mention it to them I feel a lil jealousy like they bout to blow up the spot

One thing I’ve definitely learned in general is how much salary it takes to actually feel the difference.

Taking taxes into effect, you can add like 20k in salary and it will only come out to like $30 extra on your check. Some promotions you gotta take so you’re not stagnant but it it’s just money, really gotta calculate

At 1 day a week now, for me to go to a completely hybrid situation would take probably 50k alone

Yea bro went back to the job today . They rehired me. And yea it was a 10 k difference, but I agree, it be feeling like it ain’t much of a difference at all especially if you got a family with all them taxes and insurance taken out. Spent the day with my fam working at home and i was so happy. Money really ain’t everything. Not if the difference ain’t super huge I agree

The World, but from BK
I still go in the office only once a week, and it's based off what restaurant we can order from with a $20 stipend that day. The rest of my team is in the UK, so really no need to come thru unless people need me to show them how to navigate in Netsuite. Being home when my kid comes home is golden.
