I imagine he was just swinging indiscriminately, probably why there was no lethal injuries. Also these are kids. Probably frozen in place.

Yep. It takes a certain mentality to hurt someone with a bladed weapon. But its not the crazy people with knives you should be afraid of like this guy even, not someone swinging wildly into a crowd. It's the cold guy who doesnt break his form when he swings and is aiming for vitals you should really watch out for. That kind of person is used to hurting people with knives.
