looks like one of the marines from vanquish

why would somebody with super powers who is impervious need armor. Hopefully thats from some krypton scenes or something.

If they stick to the basic setup from the comic then Zod shows up on Earth after escaping the Phantom ZOne where he was sentenced back when Krypton was still in existence and that is how he dressed when he was on his home planet and before he was exposed to the Earth's sun and developed super-powers.
So he is basically in his Krypton clothes.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
You formulated a lot of opinions from a couple vague ass trailers. Ma and Pa Kent as jerks? :wtf: And who gives a fukk if Jimmy Olsen is a dude, a chick or even in the movie? Olsen has never mattered at all in any of the Superman flicks. Also why would you want Kryptonite being used yet again? It is a crutch that gets used when folks can't come up with any creative way to show Superman in trouble.

And Peter is an executive producer (one of about 3 or 4) on Man of Steel and exec producers on movies never have any real say in the final product like producers do. Plus there are several other producers of this movie, including Christopher Nolan.

*after Clark saves a bunch of kids on a school bus from drowning / he's obviously been chastised by his father*
Clark: What was I supposed to do? Let them die?
Pa Kent: ....Maybe.

---
Clark: My father said that the world would never accept me.

---

Yes, I'm going by the trailers, but all signs strongly point to Pa telling Clark that he should keep his gifts on the down low. Pa Kent is supposed to inspire hope in Clark that he can do good with his powers and he was brought here for a reason. Not tell him to hide his powers and conceal them from the world. You can change Jimmy's gender, but you can't change that. Jor-El tells Kal-El that humans have the capacity for good and the Kents show Clark this and inspire him to do good.

If it aint broke don't fix it.

Also, you're telling me that kryptonite has been used to much yet you're okay with the villains? Out of the vast array of Superman villains who have not been used in live action film yet (Darkseid, Brainiac, Doomsday, Parasite, Metallo, Toyman, etc.) they're bringing back General Zod and
possibly Lex Luthor
AGAIN?!?!?

Nolan had next to nothing to do with this movie once the screenwriting process/filming got underway. The only things that we know for sure that did he was pitch Goyer's very basic story outline/idea to WB and he helped hire a director. That's all that he did. Warner Bros basically just wanted to put "FROM PRODUCER CHRISTOPHER NOLAN (DIRECTOR OF TDK TRILOGY)" on the trailers so it would catch people's interest because Supe's stock is low after that disappointing Superman Returns movie.

That maybe was a father showing concern for his kid and also was a tiny portion of an otherwise longer scene. And warning his son that he would become a science experiment if he showed the world his powers pretty much falls in line with Superman's mythos from day one, otherwise what is the point of creating a secret identity.

And Zod was in one movie a billion years ago, why all the whining about his second appearance is a mystery to me. Sure there are other villains to use but Zod presents a physical threat while also not needing an over abundance of set as to who the character is since his origin can be neatly folded into Superman's own origin.

There is no proof that Lex is even in the movie at all other than a rumor about a possible cameo.

And as much as Nolan may not have much to do with this film odds are that Peters had even less influence and got the EP credit as part if a contractual deal he has with WB.

You just seem to be looking for reasons to shyt on the movie instead of waiting to see if any if your fears are founded.

Dude us a fukken idiot. Like my post before, this is a reboot and tells the story of superman from the jump. Why in the fukk would they use darkseid or any of those other villains that idiot mentioned? Zod is perfect.

viral marketing updates:

If you visit the official Man of Steel website you're welcomed with a lot of static, but what does it mean? We know a new trailer is on the horizon for the film, so could this be a continuation of the "deep space radio waves" that we got a taste of in December? Warner Bros. wouldn't put it on the website without a reason. Check back here when we figure out what is going on.

UPDATE: The static transmissions are changing. You can check out the first one here http://www.manofsteel.com/transmission/x39ck/incoming.mp4 and second one here http://manofsteel.warnerbros.com/transmission/clkse89/incoming.mp4.

UPDATE #2: A new message has appeared on the Deep Space Radio Waves Project website (which we first reported on in December). Two words from a four word message have appeared: "You Alone." Any guesses on what the whole message will be? Is General Zod sending Superman messages?

UPDATE #3: The message at the Deep Space Radio Waves Project has now fully been decoded to say "You Are Not Alone." The official site continues to be updated with new static files that are slowly starting to reveal a shield symbol, but we're not sure whose shield it is yet.

UPDATE #4: It's starting to look a lot like the Zod symbol...
