In a world with no drugs or legalized drugs in the US, they would probably lose a lot of money. But they would not go extinct as they've been expanding their source of income beyond selling cocaine and heroin.

They make way less money from selling marijuana these days for obvious reasons, yet they're stronger than ever.

Right after the Great Recession, there was talk that it was cartel money that was bolstering the liquidity in the economy. The drug money was the only money that was flowing like before, and one of the few reasons some of the bigger banks didnt fold since they had laundered drug money in their reserves

Even though it was a Movie I'm surprised that they don't just do a quick series of airstrikes then holla at those whose left and tell them that they're not to challenge the state directly?

I mean we’ve been drone striking Afghanistan for 20 years and they keep coming.

The people with money aren’t usually in the same place the drugs violence is happening. Or they have the mobility and protection to move.

I read that article yesterday and the whole thing is a tragic ass mess. Mom's couldn't even get the satisfaction of seeing her daughter's murder avenged in full cause the MFs killed her too.
