Man Commits Crime To Get Surgery In Prison

Free market healthcare at work. :wow:

Long story short, while he was in prison for something unrelated, doctors two aneurysms in his liver's hepatic artery. The aneurysms were growing and life-threatening, so they scheduled him for surgery. Unfortunately he was released from prison before the date the surgery was scheduled, and when he went back he was told that he was SOL since he was uninsured and not in prison anymore. So he did what any rational person would do and committed a crime so he could go back.

So basically, in the U.S., prisoners are better off than poor people (or people without insurance) in terms of access to healthcare. At least I know what to doif I need surgery that I can't pay for. :manny:

The point it seems you're trying to make doesn't line up with this article at all.

Free Market - a market structure in which the distribution and costs of goods and services, wage rates, interest rates — along with the structure and hierarchy between capital and consumer goods — are coordinated by supply and demand unhindered by external regulation or control by government or monopolies.

The article would be better evidence that you don't like the external regulation that has been already implemented into the health care system for prisoners.

The Free Market vs. Regulation debate is pointless because anyone with sense knows the answer isn't at either extreme.
