So you are saying they aren't Muslims? Are they not enforcing Sharia Law?

You dudes keep bringing up these logical fallacies. "Oh, but they aren't real Muslims". They are just as Muslim as you are.

:pachaha:

youre blaming Islam. But those people have been Muslims for centuries. The majority of the people do not support the actions of an armed few. Ansar al Din was not voted into power. The locals lived their lives according to their ways and their faith for centuries until this new phenomenom appeared

When a new phenomenom appears, do you point to the pre existing factor as a cause, or say, a new factor or element in the equation?

If Ansar al Dins actions can be attributed to Islam because theyre Muslim, well then the local Mali peoples opposition to Ansar al Din should be attributed to Islam because theyre Muslim. In which case you have to outweight which factor is greater: The people of Northern Mali, or Ansar el Din.

Tech, they are pushing for Sharia Law there. That's Islam. It might not be your interpretation of Islam but they are Muslims nonetheless. I just made this point in the bible and child besting thread.

Religions have different interpretations but it is still an encompassing term that can be applied correctly.
