and he was man truly in search of TRUTH

he spent so much time, effort and money preaching for Elijah Muhammad. It was such a huge part of his life, and his reputation. But when he realized the TRUTH he did not hesitate for a second to admit he was wrong. He had no problem going into the public eye and flat out saying I was wrong. He was so open-minded too, all it took was one experience in Mecca for him to reevaluate his entire life and he was so flexible, able to shift his perspective in a completely new direction. He had no ego, no arrogance. He devoted his life to seeking out the Truth.
