So I'm posting this here, because i feel theres a lot of quality talent.

Im still new to producing (almost 3 months?). I can get samples chopped up pretty quick and lay them down with some dope drums. But then from there, I get stuck. I feel I can't properly make the beat "full". Any suggestions, tips ect?

Trying to get this section bumping a little more as well.

Add strings, hats, cymbals and bass to make it sound fuller. Your's could especially use some hi hats, that's what I use to make my beats fuller.

Kicks need some more bass add a little reverb maybe to fatten the snares

Also layering is important, always wanna try to add shyt in until it sounds full enough to the point where it doesn't take away from your sound

Reverb on instruments compression in drums

based off what im hearing here, if i were u id look up mixing techiniques, its just really quiet and has poor dynamics, add bass, maybe a counter melody with additional keys somewhere in there, definitely compress the snare and kick maybe get new samples because you dont want to just compress the shyt outta bad drums idk how good the samples are really though, add a pad in there somewhere

for this one specifically i would add hi hats. id put a regular kick behind your bass kick, then put a little compression on it. i would eq the snare a tiny bit to make it brighter. then compress it (both together). then send the whole drum line to a bus channel and compress that, and put a little room reverb on it

the sample sounds dope already

Overall, any track has a bottom, a middle and a top end. After a while of messing with sounds, you'll start knowing which sounds occupy which space. Then filling up your track will be like putting together a puzzle with a top middle and bottom and you'll know when one part needs filling, which sound would fit.

That sounds pretty simple but it's actually hard a hell :russ:

The track has hi hats I think they just got drowned out /turned down to low.

U could use a bassline imo
also find the key to the sample (u can use melodyne) to play instruments over it

Try adding a bass line it automatically fattens up the track. Some hi hats won't hurt just make sure the pattern fits w the vibe. Strings maybe?

I like this tho even without making it full. The snares seem a lil off but that could just be me.

The Truth
The sample is the easiest part

As an artist, you can always build around a solid sample

how good you are is determined by how you can add more to the sample, and then be creative while still making it sound good

for this beat, me personally, I like my shyt to be more musically inclined. I would add some strings, synth, hits, hithats, cymbals, basslines (or 808), transitions, etc.

It's a good sample to start out with. I'm great with samples just don't like using them
