Why must I always get greedy when making parlays?

I had 3 nba games where I picked the winner and margin of victory(example: blazers by 1-5)

Those 3 hit(odds +380 +410 +500)

Just leaving it at that and betting $20 would have won me over $3,000, but NOOOOOO, I had to add some nhl games to the parlay, which NONE of them hit
