Used car game is changed breh. Recession took like 15 million cars off of the road, either through sales that didn't happen or Cash For Clunkers. Plus people are holding onto cars longer, and cars last longer/are built better. So financing a 9 yr old car is not THAT bad of an idea, if you get a good rate, and do your due diligence in picking the car.
True true.

After inflation, that 2200 in 2003 is 2800 today. New Accord is still 2x as expensive.

Financing a car is always a bad idea. Financing a car that's nearly 10 years old is just plain dumb.

Not always a bad idea. If you get a low interest rate, you can invest the money elsewhere and use the returns to pay on the car...

Yeah but with no carpayment that's $400+ whatever else going into investments so you're investing more money. With a car payment you invest $400 less AND you have debt on your hands and you're paying interest on top of that.

Cars are expensive brehs. In 2003 I bought a 10 year old Accord for 2200. Today a 10 year old Accord is like 6000. I just bought an old 350Z for 10K. 9 years old. Paid cash doe :steviej:

:myman:

if only the :hamster: archives were searchable, that was dude's 5411th thread on some variation of "i make 100k a year but...." :russ:

You don't have to go back to SOHH for this one... this is probably his 10th Coli "I'm extremely successful, handsome, youthful, and a player BUT..." Thread

I dap them all the time because the protagonist in these stories seems like a swell guy :ehh:

Bu-bu-but it has navigation and Bose sound system :sadcam:.

It's one thing to NEED a car and you finance, but to pay off a car, trade it in, then start the process all over again for a model year newer than the previous is just stupid.

I don't understand why you would swap $4600 in debt with $25k plus some BS warranty that's will run you $3700 but only for the next 4000 miles. I don't even understand why dude owes anything on the car in the first place.

If dude wants to keep upgrading cars, he may as well lease. I'd rather him pay $400+ for a 2013 than some shyt that's 10 years old.
