When I first moved to the DMV and was making 40k -50k, I thought making 100k would be awesome. And it was initally. I almost cried when I got a job taking me from 64k to 99k
The reason I've done well is because I have the same car and house I had when I was make 64k, 5 years ago. Learn to live below your means folks. Don't rush out and splurge when you get that money. Your lifestyle really doesn't upgrade until you've made good money for a good while. The people who really have it, have had it wisely for decades

:eeh: Not bad advice, seems pretty reasonable but wait theres more :ooh:

My car has 146k miles, still looks and drive great. No major problems. I owe 4600, theyre giving me 5 for it.

This A8 has 56k, fully loaded. Everything! Bose sound, Nav, Backup Cam etc. They 25k, AS-IS. They let me take it home tonight and I'm suppose to take it to the Audi Dealer tomorrow to get checked. No way I'm getting a appt that fast. They offer an Preferred Warranty for 60k mi for 3700$. If I finance with them my interest rate would be 2.9%.My payment would be in the 400s if I put down 3k.

If you making 99K, then why the fukk do you owe almost 5K on a 9 year old car?
:what:

If he's quitting his job to take a year or so off and his savings is so fat, why not buy the car cash instead of toting another bill around?

Even dumber, he's getting rid of a car he owes 5k for one thats a year older instead of keeping it.

Would only take two paychecks to pay off :lupe:

The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
You do know about inflation and CPI don't you? Can't compare 2003 money to 2013 money.
After inflation, that 2200 in 2003 is 2800 today. New Accord is still 2x as expensive.

Used car game is changed breh. Recession took like 15 million cars off of the road, either through sales that didn't happen or Cash For Clunkers. Plus people are holding onto cars longer, and cars last longer/are built better. So financing a 9 yr old car is not THAT bad of an idea, if you get a good rate, and do your due diligence in picking the car.
