An Introduction to top tier Techno Albums & Producers

:ahh:
I've been wanting to do this for awhile now but have been too busy.
Away we go!

Previous thread:
I made a post in 'The Arcadium' called...

African Americans created a pillar of videogame music: Techno
https://www.thecoli.com/posts/18080578/

In that post I went over a brief overview of the genres' origins, how it applies to videogame music, and on the last couple pages I pulled/posted standout techno tracks from various videogames. I suggest you check it out when you get a chance.

This thread:
In this post I'm providing a general survey of top quality Techno albums. But why? In other genres we have an Idea of the top Jazz, Blues, HipHop, R&B, Gospel, Funk, etc etc albums but that's harder to glean in Techno which has two quirks about it that puts up a barrier to newcomers
  • Similar to Jazz, the fact of few lyric heavy tracks makes it hard to find a song you may have heard and liked."what's that track that goes tick tick boom tick tick" doesn't make for the easiest search query.
  • People / DJ's are likely to be vested in tracks over albums given the heavy club/setlist nature of the genre. As a result even non DJ's could likely simply mention fav songs DJ's play over entire albums.
This thread cuts through that introductory barrier by listing albums over single tracks.

Final Note:
This is not a list of "who's notable because they did this/that first" this is purely quality Techno albums.

When I win I bring we with me
I'm more into house.

I want that hat

:ehh:
I like some of the earlier House stuff that had more variety to it.
There was no defined way it's "suppose to sound" so it was all over the place

Edit:
No, it was that the music wasn't made for festivals and other such events. while some was made for clubs a lot was just what the artist liked to hear. A lot now sounds like it's made for what they think the audience wants to hear at a given venue as opposed to just being musically creative for the sake of being musically creative.

You know what, I think a solid week up top would be a good look.:jbhmm:
While, folks often talk about "cultural appropriation" part of that revolves around and results in black folks internally not being aware of our collective cultural product.

In this case that cultural product is techno ...who I would assume most black folks think is just something white folks at festivals & "Raves" do.

I think putting it up top as a sticky for a solid week would be a good way of pointing to information(and more importantly "reclaiming" culture) most black folks have no clue about, but should.:ehh:

Subbed, 5-starred, and repped.

I’m more so into House music, Jungle music, and Drum & Bass but I can fux with some Techno and I’m always fascinated with its history. I still remember being shook that Black folks actually created the genre too.

Like others in definitely more into house. Techno is cool nonetheless plus I'm old enough to remember when the genre was mostly represented by black people.
