Stephon Marbury - Averaged 20 and 8 most of his career

Metta World Peace - One of the greatest defensive SF's ever

Barry Bonds - Baseball's undeniable GOAT

:huhldup::scusthov:

Cool stats, but if you've ever watched him play, and saw the effect he had on a team, you'd realize he doesn't pass the eyeball test.

He got those vain, empty Michael Beasley type stats.

They out there playing "21" in the middle of a team game.

He fukked up when he left Minny. He was actually a better pg during that time than he ever was for the rest of his career.Quietly, one of the dumbest moves in the history of basketball. He wanted to go to Jersey and be on some Allen Iverson shyt, while being closer to home.Selfish summummabich

Comparing Mike Beasley to Marbury takes a few pounds off of whatever weight your opinions hold.

Minnesota was Marburys fault, who wants to play in a garbage racist cold city like that anyways? It didnt get Garnett anywhere, nobody was beating the Lakers in the West back then.

Marbury was mostly a victim of bad luck, still had a respectable career and if nothing else he proved hes one of the most talented PG's to ever play the game.

My OP wouldnt have gotten so many daps if theres wasnt a somewhat respectable argument for Marbury as a HOF'er

i think if Pau cn finish his career on a good note i can see that
he got 2 rings and a couple Allstars

TP and ginobli most def a hof imo

And with the foreign players we have to take account into what they did overseas too. It's not at NBA Hof, it's a Pro Basketball Hof.

I lived in Phoenix, AZ from '02-'04.....watched Marbury play 100's of times.....20 something times live

He does nothing but put up empty stats.Look what happened when the Suns replaced him with Steve Nash? The Nets replaced him with Kidd?

Teams show significant improvement when they ditch that dude.Great individual talent.I can't knock that. His individual skills are:whew:, but he never elevated the players around him.

He didn't pass to set up his team mates, he passed it off when he couldn't score.A lot of residual assist out there.

I cant fully c/s this post, there were other changes made to the Nets and Suns rosters after Marbury left those teams

Kenyon Martin was just a rookie during Marbury's last season with the Nets. They drafted Richard Jefferson, Martin and Jefferson were perfect running mates for Kidd. Van Horn played well with Marbury but they didnt have enough

The Suns added QRich and Joe Johnson after Marbury left, they were both really good role players on those Suns teams. And Amare was young but quickly improving at that point

The Suns managed to win 1 game against the Spurs with Marbury, and the Spurs went on to win the championship that year. They played the Nets in the finals, the Nets also only won 1 game against the Spurs with Kidd as their leader.

He gets killed for that interview where he refers to Z-Bo as a beast. People forget that Marbury was playing well during the 07-08 season, we were starting to win games until early january when he had surgery to fix his plantar fasciatis causing him to miss the rest of the season. Antoni came to NY the next year and that was basically the end of Marbury's career in the NBA.

Some of Marburys lack of success was his fault, i cant front on that. But some of it had to do with bad luck and bad timing, no one ever brings up the facts i dropped in this post. He gets killed by the media just like most other basketball players that chose to affiliate themselves with the hip hop culture.

Joe played a couple of years with Marbury. The only guy they added was Q Rich. When they traded Marbury to NY, they moved Joe over to pg for the rest of the year. That's when JJ started developing into the player he is today.I always said Joe and Amare was the two players the Suns should've built around.Even ahead of Nash & Marion.I knew other than pre injury Amare, Joe was the most talented dude on those Suns teams.

But you're kinda right about Marbury.I believe some of the thing you say are true.It does seem like he was getting black balled at times, but at the same time, I think it was because he wasn't really a team player. The truth is always somewhere in the middle

My bad about Joe, i thought i might be wrong about that but i wasnt sure. Your absolutely right though, the truth is always somewhere in the middle. He didnt always make the best decisions but the media didnt show him much love. I hate to say this but if he was white he'd probably be alot more liked.

wat yall think about Chauncey Billups?

Chris Bosh?
Chauncey is beyond interesting.
I definitely don't think he's first-ballot, but at the very least, he deserves consideration after a few years.
It's tough to justify a career that habitually was 18 pts, 6-7 assists per game. Only five all-star games. Never made all-NBA. Great playoff performance(s), but I don't think it's enough.

Bosh, I think, should make it.
He's still got 8-plus years left, and already has a ton under his belt:
Superstar stats in Toronto; 23 ppg, 10 rpg
Solid performer alongside Bron/Wade in MIA: 18 ppg, 8 rpg
Some very good games in last year's playoffs
7 all-star games
He's never been the best at his position, but he's been top-3/5 like every year. He gets my vote.
