But taking race out of it, because it's not just about that, in the '90s indie rock bands rebelled against this same system because they wanted to make money off their art and on their own terms.

Hip Hop was created independently and didn't need to rebel at first.

these dudes made a song they didnt even realize was a single

song blew up, they gettin penneis but they now get the opportunity to make more music with other people and get paid more. they went from making music for free to getting paid with the possibility of getting PAID. thats a ill trade off and any of us on here would be dumb to not try it.
