Elaborate on honeypot bruh, Is my sh!t being monitored right now?

THE TERM REFERS TO A TRAP, BROTHER! A FAKE TORRENT FILE CONTAINING CODE THAT ALTERS YOUR PC IN WAYS YOU DIDN'T INTEND, DUDE! POSSIBLY OF FBI ORIGIN, BUT MORE LIKELY FROM A LARGE COPYRIGHT HOLDER LIKE A FILM STUDIO OR SONY, BROTHER!

ORIGINALLY THE TERM COMES FROM THE VIETNAM WAR, MEAN GENE! NVA SOLDIERS WOULD SHOOT A US SCOUT IN THE STOMACH AND LEGS, IMMOBILIZING HIM AND LEAVING HIM SCREAMING LOUDLY, DUDE! ANY US SOLDIERS THAT TRIED TO RESCUE HIM WOULD BE LETHALLY GUNNED DOWN OR TURNED INTO ADDITIONAL "HONEYPOTS" BROTHER! BE GLAD YOUR PROBLEM IS NOT SO DIRE, BROTHER!

The MPAA, RIAA and several anti-piracy organizations are constantly trying to trap people into downloading fake torrents. These torrents are hosted on trackers that are setup to collect IP addresses of all the ‘pirates’ who try to download these files.

If you downloaded from torrent. I suggest you search to see if one of your file was a fake.

When did you notice it was gone? Like dude said, it may not even be deleted. Was it a folder on your main drive, or on an external HD? It would take forever to delete 200gb of data without reformatting a drive. This is definitely some strange shyt though.

And that Honeypot shyt has got to be illegal. I understand they're trying to curb "stealing", but if they're altering anything on your CPU outside of the actual honeypot (or the fake file you downloaded), then that can't be legal.

I did a search for the files and nothing, the folder just vanished.
It's a mystery.
His question was a good one though. Did you gain a significant amount of free space back? Because if you didn't then its probably still somewhere that you can't see.

Also, check your disk for errors. Open up a command line and then without parenthesis type in (chkdsk /r). It will tell you it can't run because the drive is in use. Thats because you are using the machine. It will give you the option to let it run at startup after the next reboot. Hit "Y" and then reboot your machine. Chkdsk should run. It may run for a good while. If there were any bad clusters or something funky with your drive it will probably find it and correct the errors. Unless you are sitting there watching the thing as it finishes you will probably miss the results of the scan. Once you go back into Windows look through the Event Log in the System section and look at some of the more recent logs. You'll run across the results of the Chkdsk if you missed them the first time.

whenever i BUY my music or movies, i save directly to my externals , longest any file last on my HD is a day or three

but ya check around its pretty hard to just "lose" 200 gigs worth of files out of the blue

BUT if that is the case, sounds like you downloaded some shyt or got hacked, i would run every anti virus / spy/ malware known to man on that computer, shyt i would back all my shyt up and factory restore just to be safe
