Smith can win but clearly he needs great players around him and a 2015-16 Broncos SB caliber type defense on the other side of the ball. But u can say Brady needs good players around him. Smith started out playing very well this year. With the Chiefs regressing....he will,probably be traded to another team.

Now their D isn't forcing turnovers like they did before and the runnign game has fallen off considerably. Watch Russ out there beasting with crap for years. Smith on Seattle would be out of the league.

Also, anyone with that Broncos SB caliber D would win a chip. Why invest in a QB like that?

I'm of the opinion that Alex Smith is basically Ryan Fitzpatrick with a slightly better arm. You need literally the PERFECT team for him to win and that's a miracle to assemble. Guys like that are a dime a dozen, he's a capable back-up, which the league DOES need, but he should never ever ever ever start another NFL game other than because you're desperate. He's not good. He's never been good. He's gotten carried by great offensive talent and coaching that hid his many deficiencies in Harbaugh and Reid, but even the best coaches can only do so much with someone that limited.

The funny thing about this post is there are so many defenders that think he is actually good, like really good. I remember on the 9ers board there were some who actually thought he was in the same category as Aaron Rodgers. The fans this dude has make no sense. I don't even think Ryan Fitzpatrick has fans. It's legit crazy. 9er board has an entire thread dedicated to Alex and it's full of miserable fanboys that still crying about the trade. It's hilarious.
