The defense didn't give up "31 points" in the Super Bowl #1... you must have not watched how the Chiefs scored all of their points and who cares who got "closer" when the Packers and Lions were eating in the two previous games.... and the Chiefs drove down the field TWICE after the offense gave them the lead back at the end of regulation and in OT.

If the defense got a few stops in a big spot maybe he'd still have a job there but the defense was torched by Cousins and the Bengals etc. also in the regular season.

Lions are a top 5 o-line unit and the packers are a top 10. Lions are damn near just as loaded on the Offensive side of the ball as the Niners. Packers arent as talented but Aaron Jones was playing like a top 5 back this year and Packers WR/TE combos are rapidly ascending (they will be a top 5 offensive unit next year, bet money).s

OFC this Niners D got worn down. The NIners stopped scoring and stopped having long drives.

Only bad call IMO was the Chiefs last possession but they were dead anyway. THe playbook was completely open for the chiefs as they only needed to get in FG range. Wilks didnt coach a perfect but he was continuously let down by Rat Boy and Special Teams spiting what was a very potent defensive performance by the Niners.

He's the scapegoat since you can't fire the offensive coordinator who is also the head coach. The defense did it's job by just giving up just 1 touch down to Mahommes through 4 quarters. The offense left points on the board from their first 2 drives by a turnover, and penalties.

Then they got away from the run in the 3rd quarter by constantly throwing the ball. They could've put the game away on their last drive in the 4th quarter. Did I mention the 2 blunders by the special team, missed extra point, and fumble inside the 20. Why not fire the special team coach?
