I remember someone saying Alex Cross should be played by Idris Elba.

With guys like MJW and Elba around I feel like Tyler Perry as Alex Cross looks....lackluster.

I dont even know why he is in this movie. I got no hate for the man, but to me hes Madea. Hes prob a good black actor and this movie could be watchable as hell, I just don't see him as anyone else and to me that would stop me from seeing this in the theaters.

+rep for mentioning Idris I remember reading he was gonna get this role, he would of killed this role.

Like some else mentioned, I would have loved seeing Idris get this role. It would be hard to enjoy this movie trying to forget that Perry is the nig on the screen.

Yeah I understand that.

I usually ignore Tyler Perry and I'm not trying to shyt on him. I just have a hard time seeing him without the Madea clout.

Props to him getting the role though.

I mean if Kurt Russell can escape the Disney reputation he had back in the day to badass status. Perry should have a shot at badassery as well :manny:

When was that?

In 1971, he co-starred as a young robber released from jail, alongside James Stewart in Fools' Parade. Russell was soon signed to a ten-year contract with the Walt Disney Company, where he became, according to Robert Osborne, the "studio's top star of the '70s".

Actor Kurt Russell has confirmed the last two words movie mogul Walt Disney wrote before he died were the "Escape From New York" star's name. It has long been rumoured that Disney penned 'Kurt' and 'Russell' just before he passed away in 1966. Russell was a child actor signed to the studio at the time. During a recent appearance on US TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 56-year-old Russell confirmed the urban legend as fact. He said, "It's true. I don't know what to make of that. I was taken into his office one time after he died and I was shown that."
