The Passage of Time
I'll be brief and hopefully concise.

Why hasn't Madden gotten on the "Signature Style" bandwagon? I think this element would have brought a breath of fresh air to the game to more than the "infinity Collision Engine". I look at madden and everyone is the same, why do I give a fukk about recording different QB's for cadence authenticity, when as soon as he drop back Brady looks just like Leftwhich.

Now they are bringing legends to the game and not bringing there personality with them. At least APF2K8 brought signature style with the legends and they brought a plethora of styles, QB throwing motions as well as arm slots, Watching Marino throw vs Johnny Unitas. RB running styles, Walter Payton vs Earl Campbell. Watching Jerry Rice run a route, was completely different from Herman Moore. These things make the game stand out and a joy to watch live.

I'm not saying which game is better, I just don't understand how this is not part of the Madden game. More so than a physics engine touted by them as the best thing to happen to Madden in generations. But when I watch the videos, the collisions don't impress me at all, especially when you see horrible running animations inconsistent foot planting and the lack of a RB getting skinny through a hole, instead they let the RB trip over a linemans leg, like that happens a lot in the league.

Does anyone know why the community doesn't push for Sig Style?

Madden has really found a way to bring out the emotion in many people. It's a sign that at some point the franchise was more than a video game damn near.

People always say "I wish madden......"

True, Madden is Iconic and it's part of peoples childhood and their love for the sport and for the most part when your dreams die after high school or college aside from playing in a turkey bowl its the closest experience.

Tears pour down my face.

All the problems Madden has N you worried about the release point of the QBs arm:aicmon:

Believe you I am aware of the existing legacy issues with madden. This is just me wondering why we don't have something that all sports games not coming out of EA has. And Yes Arm Slots are important to delivery which affects trajectories and ball placement, that is an essential part of football. This is why every scout and analyst talk about quick release and how a QB throws the ball will it get to its intended target.

Madden has alot of fukk ups here are some I'd like to see addressed.

(in no particular order)

-Stamina: If you run a no huddle offense all game your players should get tired...right?

-Bring Back Custom TD Celebrations: Yeah I know it's not that big a deal but I liked it. They had it for 1 year and took it out, I dont like these canned TD celebrations.

-Super LB's: IM tired of having a WR open down field only to have a LB jump 30 feet in the air to make a INT on a ball that was intended to go 30 yards down field.

-Make The Ratings Mean Something: If I have a 90+ Pass Rusher he should be able to atleast get pressure on the QB...and so on...

-Strip Attempts: If you constantly go for the strip some of your tackles should be broken...like in real life!!

-Catches/INT's: If you cant see the ball you shouldn't be able to catch it.

-QB Scramble Recognition: Why does it take the defense 10 yards of watching the QB scramble b4 they notice the QB is scrambling? Especially for QB's who scramble alot (ie: Vick, Newton, Rodgers)

IM sure more will come to mind but that's it for now, OP makes a great point though...everybody should feel different especially the stars which goes to my make ratings count point.

not to be overly defensive of the Madden team's attention to detail (which apparently will get you flamed and negged on this site) but try to think of how difficult it would be to have 22 players on the field all with completely different animations. Even if only the skill players had unique animations that still up to 11 players or so. I'm no programer but I bet having so many moving parts on the field at the same time makes this a little more difficult than say a basketball or hockey game.

Not saying it can't be done but if that Madden team can't even get a handle on the basic animations and physics that have a real, tangible effect on gameplay (momentum, foot planting, leverage, stamina, weight, strength, etc), whats the point of them focusing on purely cosmetic animations. I mean it would be nice but personally I'd love for them to spend the short development cycle on things the actually affect gameplay. I still think the Infinity Engine is a huge step in the right direction. :yeshrug:

Imagine what a year off (a la NBA Live/Elite) would do for the Madden series.

could you imagine playin another bball game without the signature shots and animations?...I agree...Reggie Bush should not run the ball like Marshawn Lynch..Dez Bryant doesnt run routs like Steve Smith, etc.

Play APF2k8 and your assessment will change. They don't have to have all players animate differently just the majority of skilled players i.e. QB, WR, RB, LB, CB & some safeties.

yeah I always give them the benefit of the doubt...but folks would pay serious moola for a fully updated madden game

just keep it trill with us....if it takes 2 yrs to fully update the defensive line scheme/physics let us know it'll take 2yrs

If every year we could look forward to measurable improvements in the physics we'd be fukkn happy. shyt they could bring the graphics back to 05, if I know at the snap of the ball I can rush the a gap, slap down the guards hands, dip my shoulders and hit the qb, I'd be fukkn GEEKED

If they looked at every position as a 1 on 1 fighting game, I'd pay top dollar on that bytch. Imagine if they brought SF style parrying to the lineman scheme. Or WR/CB animations were the equivalent to doing a crossover and dribbling down the lane.

The only reason ppl bytch so much is cause we feel we're being ignored.
