Im speculating here.

I think miller flushed out the mad max character as much as he could. He wanted to expand his universe by introducing furiosa and showing off more of the landscape.

I feel like a max and furiosa were both secondary characters amd the prime focus was on the cars, costumes and environment

44.44 MILLION OPENING WEEKEND. I think that's a fantastic opening for a Cult Classic Trilogy that's 30 years since the last movie. THe problem is they just spent so much damn money on it. 150 Million Budget, that's not counting marketing (which is offset by DVD, TV Sales which is why studios never report marketing cost). I have to see the overseas numbers. "Perfect Pitch 2" was the perfect counter programming for females. Also "Mad Max 4" is a rated R movie so it's audience was always going to be limited against something like "Perfect Pitch 2". Also "The Avengers" though it's dropping like a rock, it's still doing pretty good and Mad Max audience and Avengers 2 audiences kind of cross each other. So overall if you would of told me a Mad Max movie could do almost 50 Million opening weekend at the box office, I would of told you, your lying.

Only in the sense that Furiosa is the driving force of the story, but it's Max' story as much as it is hers.
They both wanted the same thing, redemption. Max was haunted by the people he failed to save and Furiosa was haunted by the home and people she left behind when she was kidnapped. I already want to go see this film again.

In roughly an hour I'll be heading into my sixth viewing, and I can honestly say I haven't gotten tired of it yet. Matter of fact, my last viewing may have had the best audience yet, there are slowly creeping more and more casuals into the audience and they are shook as hell by the time the movie reaches the title card. Then there's that moment after the first chase ends with Max lying face down in the sand and that moment of quietness when you hear the audience burst back to life with gasps of exhilaration.

shyt is truly :ohlawd: and it's only been the first act of the movie.

I'm sorry, my breh, I didn't know you still were one of those backwards-ass stupid people that think 3D has nothing to do with depth perception and just means that stuff has to fly right at your face like "whoa!". Really, I actually feel sorry for you for that because it's not 2008 anymore. Not to say the 3D here is on some Avatar type ish but as far as post-converted 3D goes, it has never been done better than here.

But lol @ wondering too if maybe the dialogue and performances of the bad guys were done intentional. I'm sure your keen eye of perception can find the answer to that, Sherlock.

Last but not least, if you think this was Hardy's best flick since Inception I feel sorry for you again, breh.

I'm not a fan of 3d. But the theatre I went to didn't have any 2D showings. It added nothing.

And 6 viewings? Jesus breh. I feel sorry for YOU

I felt the same way...

Felt like Max was just there for the ride but I didn't mind it...:manny:

Didn't care much for the story really...The action scenes were so damn well shot I completely forgot dude sacrificed his entire army over runaway p*ssy...Perfect summer action movie imo and I'll probably go see it again soon since my wife wants to see it...

So was this dude from ThunderDome a war boy/pup? Always wondered why he looked like that

and zoe kravitz playing the music box that max gave to the feral kid

seem like max also got the idea to booby trap his car from furiosa kill switching the rig
