Haven't been a Mac Miller fan, I think this is the first project of his I've given a fair shot. I'm impressed strong production, and even though Mac isn't dope lyrically to me, he navigates the songs well vocally. One of the first projects in a wihle that I've liked despite not liking the rapping that much Really dope to listen to late at night while cleaning the crib

Based on the few songs I've heard from him on Kids.. He's improved a lot. And his music .

And upon what I've read, this is the general consensus regarding Mac

Before he was just regarded as a frat boy rapper. Now he seems to be actually be getting some respect from hip hop heads and taken semi seriously.

Well Macadelic was his last true effort from a hip hop perspective. He spent a lot of time making experimental stuff with different personas and producing. His album had highs and lows but I think he was still trying to experiment on that one still. It'll all come together though stick around

I like most parts of it. I became a little repetitive but still not boring. Its really dark tho. Watching movies was darker then his earlier stuff but still not this dark. Watching movies was more existential, seeking and questioning. Which you also can hear on Macadelic. This on the other hand is just dark. Its not that I dont like dark albums. On the contrary, some of my favorite albums have dark subject matter.

I would say he was LSD influenced while making Macadelic and Watching movies while he is heavily influenced by coke on Faces. Which is no secret since its the main subject on the tape.
He is twitching so much in his recent interviews its becoming unconformable. 22 years old and addicted to coke...

And no one should excuse it by saying "hes making good music tho ". Im sure he can pull it of with out the coke in the picture. Out of Macadelic, Watching movies and Faces, Faces is the weakest one.
