I think black folks best shot went out the window when RFK got clapped :francis:
King getting shot and the CRM ending with integration due to cowardice and complacency. King wanted reparations, they killed him, and nikkas just stopped. They had the whole country on the ropes and settled for being able to eat, shop, and go to school with cacs.

Washington D.C.
Admittedly LBJ did pass more laws geared towards “helping” us but just like Lincoln he did it out of self interest and not out of genuine kindness and nobility.

IMO, just mine, though.
You gotta remember too you only know what you know at the time the knowledge is in front of you.
I agree there was a level of cowardice but... I try not to be too hard on our elders about this situation because Its deeper than just complacency.

I agree with you that they were close, but I think they knew how close they were but here's the kicker, they got that close by generation talent leadership
Leadership/allies was systematically dismantled. Medgar Evers, Panthers, Dr King, Brother malcolm, JFK. They killed them broad day and dismantled the would be replacing leadership. Real time mane, during a time this wont happening like this on american soil like this.I feel like our elders gamble was get equal resources and use that to develop at the same quality of life as them (just off the paper optics), and expected a successor to Dr King but it never came.People saw they killed a tough stance orator and killed a nonviolent one (ik he wasnt pacisifst though ijs).

But I humbly disagree that nikkas stopped though, I think CRM just broke down into more, smaller interpersonal froma leadership stand point. We still got on page enough to organize a million man march event even into the 90s. Though,I think brother malcolm murder was the nail in the coffin though imo NOI assassination involvement, the double agendas/infighting exposed and a lot of people got put on front street.. alot from hoover meddling and they traded victory for acceptance.

He did alot...
but its his fault on the cool how Vietnam deteriorated/ got involved on the commie shii
Ho chi Minh wrote him like three times asking for help from the French. Even volunteered to model the constitution and was ignored,
which led to alotta brothers getting drafted and killed in nam, Black veterans getting hooked on that shii down range for no reason man smh..

Passed the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1968

Passed the Voting Rights of 1965

Created Medicaid and Medicare

Established Affirmative Action as policy

Declared war on poverty and passed the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 and Elementary and Higher Education Acts of 1965

Passed the Immigration Act of 1965, which allowed millions of Black immigrants to come into the country. My family wouldn't have been able to come to America from Nigeria without this law

Put Thurgood Marshall in the Supreme Court

It seems like LBJ done the most for brehs and his legacy continue on to this day
He damn sure didn't like us but he put in the work. I'll give him that :ehh:

The people next to King became toothless lion politicians and sold out. They bytched right up. They couldn't kill everyone.
