None of the winners of this award in the past were the physically hottest people in the world at that particular time....obviously that ain't the entire point of the award. Lupita looks as good or better as any past winner. I'm happy for her success . Some nikkas on here literally have 1000's of posts doing nothing but hating on everything and everyone. That's why u can't take this section of the forum seriously

She is pretty enough, but not the most "Beautiful Woman In the World". Mindy Kaling shouldn't even be on the list. She's average at best. Julia "Horse Face" Roberts resembles an equestrian and shouldn't even be on the list. Drew Barrymore has a fat face and reaches just above mediocre when she's wearing make up.

The sad humor in all of this Lupita Nyong'o praise is that there are plenty of African women who are just as - and oftentimes FAR MORE - beautiful than she is. That it took her starring in a movie about slavery for many black Americans to realize the beauty in darker skin tones is strangely symbolic. Think about it. I love the woman for the record, so this is no shade on her, but rather just an observation that many of us don’t accept our people unless the “All-American” media aka "Massa" tells us it’s okay to do so.

Then they'll turn around and post some light-skinned weaved out girl from Instagram who they think looks better

Way before all of this award stuff.........in one of those early threads about her I said she has a feminine quality about her that is attractive......I think for older guys that's what it is more than her just being the most attractive woman. She is the type of woman you don't mind having around because of her attitude and just her embracing her womanhood. Kind of want to protect that as a man.

To be fair, despite Lupita obviously being a good looking woman, some men aren't willing to let a boyish haircut and flat chestedness slide. The problem is it's hard sometimes to tell who is hating because they're an uncle tom and who just genuinely isn't attracted to her.

But I do agree with her physicality being a turn-off for some. And that's all their right, beauty is all opinion.
