I'm no longer concerning myself with how we feel about Lupita .
Its obvious were just fighting something internal
But, the thing that bugs me out;
White folk are legit actually oblivious to the idea that dark/brown skin, coarse haired girls are negatively affected by the Eurocentric standard of beauty
I was listening to Chelsea Peretti's podcast and she was like "huh, what, but u look like super model?" at Lupita speech about being a dark skin girl
Maybe they really are that disconnected?
Oh, yea, We Made It!!! #teamlupita
ehh not really but we'll disagree in each others reply so i'll let you cook...i'm not going to look at Nicki and be like because she hit up the surgeon...that's not a valid dealbreaker when the product is this
edit: when did steven become official
My issue isn't with Lupita herself, my issue is with the fact that there are so many black actresses who are much more beautiful than her who haven't received half her hype. Garcelle Beauvais and Megan Good are more beautiful than ATLEAST 99% of Hollywood, why did they never receive the hype Lupita is getting?
- I'm EXTREMELY suspicious of the Lupita fad in Hollywood, I can't help but think they are just pandering to us but hey, one man's opinion
We men fck all atGuys posting these women that have had plastic surgery. Nose job, breast implants, butt shots etc...
Natural beauty>>>>
A visit to the plastic surgeons office Is a clear definer.
Oh my god.We men fck all at
Anyways Lupita pretty
But I'd take Nicki over her in a heartbeat
Black women needing validation from White people. Typical.
Meanwhile, in the deepest and most wicked parts of Dixie................................

Black woman celebrated = In need of validation
Black man celebrated = #blackexcellence
I see more black people mad than whites. We living in a bizarro world

Black woman can't exactly verbalize why this is a win?
Older Black women supported Black outlets for Black beauty in stuff like Ebony and Jet. Black people could reach a consensus and define themselves.
I wonder where the switch to outside validation occurred
It's a White institution. Smarten up
it remains to be seen?
yeah ok
