Let's talk about how Lupe foresaw Suge getting locked up for murder
"On Death Row like Suge"
Wasadamus
Y'all need to go back a gang of pages
yeah that prisoner 1 and 2 def needs a video. Body of Work, Dots and Lines would make for great videos tooHe needs to put out more videos.
And the rhyme scheme and multis (ronnie )
They made electric chairs for his dying days
Last meals, no appeals for him to try and stay
On Death Row like Suge and the late Pac
Maybe he could dig a tunnel out of A Block
And wear gloves for the razor-wired gate top
Scared thugs going crazy in a caged box
In my previous breakdown of the album I missed to include the beginning of third verse of Body of work.
Havnt seen anyone meantion it but the line: Sanskrit dance on the page of the dead book
Is about the Tibetan Book of the Dead. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bardo_Thodol
Which is about the place you go to between death and rebirth. I think Killah Priest mentioned reading this book in a interview done by someone here on The Coli.
Just another clue about the resurrection theme on the album. Also linked to the Buddhist culture.
When asked in the Skee interview about what Lupe wanted for the future. He even talked about wanting to be as a Buddhist monk and be able to just sit down without have the cravings that regular people have.
He also mentions Buddhism on arguable the most lyrical song of F&L 2, Form Follows Function. Seems like he is quite into Buddhism.
I have tried reading the Book, but lost it before I was able to finish it.
Quite a heavy read with a lot of "poetic" verses. Im thinking about buying it again, since I didnt have the chance of reading the most famous chapter.
i have that book
Have you read it? If so, what you think about it?
Little Death and Blur My Hands took a while for u?..Little Death is one of those joints that I thought everyone would fukk wit right away...that beat is so ill to me...those are some of my fav tracks...finally heard every song. Not one song on here that is wack. My least favorite is Murals just because its more of a straight rap then a song really. Other than that little death and blur my hands took the longest to grow on me but they're solid songs as well. Not one weak song on the album
