I used to be a huge Cudi fan but he only has himself to blame for this. He had all the hype beasts behind him 2009-2011. Dude was putting out nothing but trash after 2012 and he let Travis swoop in and take his lane.

Cudi was a dikk to nardwuar of all people. Big Sean was too actually. Good music full of clowns looking back

Good Music and it's artist is definitely a case of 'shoulda, coulda, woulda'.

Kid Cudi is a sad case in particular cause dude had his own sound and style and had (still does tbh) a cult following, but he just went weird and stopped dropping music as consistently. Then Travis Scott came in the picture and the rest is history.

At least Travis Scott recognizes and always pays homage to Cudi for basically pioneering the foundation of his sound (honestly, Travis just added 808s and waning bass to weird sounding, eerie instrumentals) as well as actually publicly advocating for his mental well-being.
