Food and Liqour and The Cool are both solid 8.5/10 albums, he lacks something that could push him up to that other level. I think it's about being more musical or working with producers that are. That's definitely something that has hindered Cole, a lot more than Lupe.

Especially the original part. If anything, Kendrick's style/musical approach is a call back to a style already mastered by 3 Stacks mixed with a lil Pac.

Not to mention Lupe inspired the generation emcees after him despite not having as many plaques or being as "big" as a Cole or Kendrick.
