That's a stupid thing to say considering Lasers sold the most amongst all his albums because "Show Goes On" was a MASSIVELY successful single

It was ALWAYSSSS on the radio

You don't get it
Good music does NOT sell!

Ha.. I think that applys to hip hop and R&B only these days

some group called Mumford and Sons will debut projected 575,000.

Hip Hop and R&B is lost now

Well "Food and Liquor" which is his best album is still not Gold. The only reason "The Cool and Lasers" sold cause he got some pop fans to buy the album cause of "Super Star" and "Show must go on". I hate to say it but most of them probably weren't even real Lupe fans, just fickle pop fans. So the Fickle Pop fans didn't hear a song like those 2 on this album so they stayed home. 90k was basically sold off Lupe's brand and Name but it's not going Gold. SMH.

You know Hip Hop is in a bad place when this won't even come close to gold domestically.

And I was one of the ones who really thought that elite lyricism was making a strong comeback the past two years.....

Well actually, rappers HAVE been stepping thier bars up in my opinion the past two years, the fact that J.Cole had such a strong debut album and it sold well kind of got my hopes up. Not calling J.Cole a super lyrical genius but HE IS a lyricist and a pretty good song writer. Lupe IS in fact a super lyrical genius and honestly I really felt that he could push 100K off this album. THIS is the album that his fans were protesting outside of the Atlantic offices for, THIS is a true showing and representation of what Lupe as an artist truly stands for, THIS is a sonic landscape of the progression that he has made as an artist, and THIS is the album that deserves the public support. It is sometimes mind boggling how unappreciated and overlooked true ARTISTS are at times. I can't for the life of me understand how some people can complain about Lupe being too "preachy" on an album that's entire concept is based upon the ills of American Culture; and yet these are the same fans who shytted on Him JUST last year for releasing the "commercial" LASERS:what: It's just......Different....
