Lupe isn't wrong in what he's saying, but I don't take what he says seriously for a few reasons. One he's had this strange sort of animosity for Obama from day one. He criticized the dude when he was running and then said that IF he did vote, he'd vote for Hilary, which is fine but he never articulated why Hilary would be better than Obama. Furthermore he got into that online debate with Rhymefest and was schooled thoroughly. Second, Lupe, unlike Rhymefest, Lupe is not actively involved in politics, again he doesn't vote, and he doesn't really articulate where his loyalties lie. If he doesn't doesn't think Obama should be President then who should. As a true intellectual he should be not just say what he thinks but be open to criticism, which he is not. He is clearly using Obama as a cheap way to get attention and this why I don't respect his opinion though I like him as an artist.
I don't like that fact that Obama supports the using of drones, but I still think it's preferable to risking American lives. War is going to happen, it's life. Obama didn't start this war, but he is finishing it the best way he knows how. Furthermore, Obama does not have complete control over the military industrial complex and he is under the advisement of experienced military generals who have been active participants in multiple wars. But Lupe wouldn't know that or perhaps, he would ignore that and just say inflammatory things just to sound cool.
I don't care whether or not you support Obama, but to give any merit to this guys half-assed opinion is asinine.
