Once your company goes public, you have to throw that mantra in the trash because the investor class is gambling on who can infinitely grow and monopolize the market. They not checking for highly profitable but low growth corps.

Ferrari seems to be the top player in the exclusivity game, but once the Luxury car resell bubble pops, and it will, Ferrari will start begging rappers and athletes to buy and customize their cars. Lululemon simply sold a better product specialized for an enthusiast group that became trendy.
