Brodie Lee made his in-ring debut on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Jacksonville, Florida at Daily’s Place on TNT. He did so by defeating QT Marshall in singles action.
Prior to the match, the show featured a pre-taped segment with Lee, Alex Reynolds and John Silver of The Dark Order.
Lee was eating steak while talking down to them. When Silver went to eat his food, Lee got upset and kicked him out of the room as a result because Lee wasn’t done eating his own meal.
Then Reynolds sneezed, which also upset Lee, and led to Reynolds being kicked out as well. This segment caused speculation among fans that the segment was booked to take shots at WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the segment was done to make fun of McMahon. The segment included references to McMahon eating at Morton’s Steakhouse and stories of McMahon liking to be the first one to eat.
Also, the sneezing part dates back to various stories told by people talking about McMahon hating people to sneeze around him. It’s been alleged that McMahon doesn’t like to sneeze because he can’t control it and wants to be in control of everything.
Meltzer stated that some people are “very upset” about the shots at McMahon by Lee. While not specified, it’s likely people within WWE who are upset.
