Bring on the cancel culture but this is why there were never female refs to begin with and it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Their presence changes the nature of player/ref interactions. The players gonna see it as a challenge to get at these refs and some ref is gonna want to feel special by being the first to get an NBA player. There's no way this isn't gonna affect both players and refs in how they make professional decisions.

Not to say that I'm against it but I'll bet cold hard coli cash this is gonna lead to problems for the league somewhere down the line.

There's been female refs in the NBA since 1997. What exactly has changed since in terms of player/ref interactions?
