Dayum AD is about to be out for multiple weeks, if not longer :picard: , and this is exactly why the trade will always be viewed as a bad one and partially why the Mavs fans will never be happy with the move because, as great as Davis is, his health is unpredictable compared to Luka's.

See how he barely, if at all, was touched the other night and literally fell to his knees in agony; you never laugh at someone for being hurt, but a lot of AD's injuries are comical at this point due to the absurdity of some of them being ridiculous.

Sure, Luka isn't the healthiest either, but are we gonna sit here and act like he's not the most probable of the two to be reliably available more often than not :comeon:?

Nico u fukking idiot
Besides AD playing a few games more than Luka the past 3 years, nobody really thinks this trade was short-sighted. But that the fact that the organization don't wanna give him a max and don't wanna give him up without getting anything for it; for example a player who is like top 5 in the league when you factor in both off and def. With a size and who plays a position that's hard to find elite players in

If you have to choose between two injury prones, you keep the one who actually spent his career with your team, who is much younger and has actually lead your team to the finals.

Like maybe they are really trying to sabotage the Mavericks to make them go to Vegas? That would be an even more scumbagy move than Bennett relocating Sonics to the OKC.

the whole "not wanting to give him the max" argument feels false to me. They never tried to negoiate him maybe taking a paycut for more help.
Heat did that with Dwade.
They don't know if Luka would have accepted a deal like that.

Would you bet Anthony Davis on a top 3 player in the league taking a 30-50% cut under his peers :jbhmm:

Dwades cut was reasonable in that his partners would do that too, and it was 1-2 million bucks under the max. Not these astronomical numbers. Also Dwade was already in free agency, so they likely already knew that he would resign not least due to the fact that they didn’t know that they could get both Lebron and Bosh. But secondly also cause even if they knew, the cut was tiny.

The second time he just chose the team paid the highest, like a few million more (regardless of state tax). He got to learn the hard way that nobody, especially a guy like Pat, will thank you for taking x millions instead of y millions for a ring.

Damn, looking at how he crumbled in that game, that injury is going to linger and mobility is extremely hindered. I wouldn't even want to risk him trying to test it out when he's not close to 100% because it can go out at anytime like a weak/bad hamstring injury.
