I didn’t believe it at first but I kind of see why it happened.
Lakers were trying to get a star to put asses in the seats when Lebron leaves. I don’t think they expected championship success with the team LA has now.
There will definitely be growing pains for the rest of the year in LA though. But the plan will be to rebuild around Luka I guess.
And AD to Dallas is crazy though. They will have Kyrie, shell-of-Klay Thompson, PJ probably sliding back to the 3spot, AD, and the Gafford/Lively combo. Dallas looks really good on paper now. I think they felt like Lukas injury prone-ness and ball domination is not the style they want moving forward despite going to the finals last year. And they must’ve really had beef with him because they did it in the shadiest way possible.
But seems like Dallas wants to win now and this probably gives them a better chance. AD is back at the 4 which he wanted, Kyrie and AD match up well, Klay spaces the floor, PJ and Gafford can score off hustling plays and defense, etc.
Not many teams will be able to matchup with the lineups and they just got another former world champion. Bench got better too
