I dont get the doom and gloom from Dallas. I dont see them winning a chip with this team. I aint see them winning with Luka . And if they wanted to get rid of Luka what was a better realistic option?

Spurs wasnt comin off Wemby. And that woulda been hard because of Wembys salary. Most of the guys making the necessary amount of money are older, flabbier, or one sideder. AD a 2 way beast in his early 30s. They coulda done much worse but I am not sure how much better they coulda done...especially if they just wanted to get away from Luka.

I genuinely believe that LeBron had no knowledge about this. It’s not like the Lakers are in win now mode anyways so why would they ask him his thoughts and opinions? He’s on his way out the league in 2 years.

My biggest complaint is, at 25 years old I would be tempted to see if we can fix Lukas issues before I traded him.

However...

Give this Mavericks roster the rest of the regular season to get some chemistry, figure out rotations and play games together and I think they have a legit shot in the West.

Honestly. Laker fans have real ass history to be arrogant unlike the Knicks. I used to HATE the Do it Mitch talks, but how many times do they have to pull off wild top level acquisitions across all of our lifetimes before we say that franchise is different?

Even removing Kobe and Magic who they drafted. They went and got Kareem. They went and got Shaq. They went and got Pau. They almost got CP3 until Stern stepped on it. They went and got Bron. They went and got AD. They went and got Luka.

I genuinely can't think of any team really close historically to going to get stars and it works out in their favor to a crazy degree, maybe the Yankees are second place to them.....and maybe Ferrari in F1, but their weight is kinda undeniable at this point across all sports. We can't call none of them nikkas who cheer for the Lakers delusional no more when it comes to it being a destination.

Obviously what it boils down to is Dallas didn't believe in Luka enough to pay him 5/345, and I think that's a totally reasonable position. Luka doesn't have the mindset of an athlete that will make that a good investment. Especially with how constraining the cap rules are now.

If they thought they could win a title this year with Luka this wouldn't have happened. They obviously have a longer term vision in mind that probably doesn't even include AD. I respect it.
