I think you guys are onto something.
Luka does come across as a bit entitled or petulant on the court. I don't have a huge problem with him campaigning for calls because I think it's important for elite NBA players to be able to manage and manipulate refs. I'm thoroughly impressed at how he's able to work a crew and then play the game, get to his spots, and get the calls. Rookies don't get that benefit of the doubt and whistle love. Luka does. A lot of it is how he draws contact and gets defenders out of position, but he does do a really good job working the officiating crew each and every night.
But his attitude rubs me the wrong way sometimes. Giving up, turning around, and being visibly frustrated when DSJ blew the game against the Pelicans was not a good look. After the buzzer sounded you see dude pissed off and cussing. It's a team game and you look spoiled when you do that shyt.
I don't like how he was jumping up and down into the crowd on that And-1 that wasn't called against New Orleans last week at home in Q4. I believe it was New Orleans? I'm not sure. But he took it to the rack and clearly made the basket in continuation but didn't get the basket called for him.
He comes across like a spoiled kid on the court. No knock against his talent, but he acts the way you'd expect a child prodigy with a little bit of entitlement to act.
I wouldn't say I'm worried, but I do think his success has gotten to his head. Kid is 19, probably surrounded by a few yes men, always stepped up when he was a kid playing against bigger, faster, stronger men, and now he's succeeding in the NBA. Dude gets on IG and just sees nonstop highlights and dikkriding of himself. He needs to show a bit more composure at times. Have the swag when you're killin it, but you can't hang your head or visibly get so frustrated like that when it doesn't go your way.
