Lucifer Season 5 was supposed to be the final season of the series. Fans were unhappy with this decision. Production of Season 5 was put on a halt because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, only a few episodes were left to shoot. There are going to be 2 parts of Season 5 each consisting of 8 episodes. Tom Ellis has been negotiating with Netflix for a Season 6 for quite a while now and he is close to returning as the devil in Season 6. So pretty much Netflix showed green light for the sixth season. Even the deadline and collider confirmed this. The cast members are also on board with the decision of another season.

While some fans would love to see Ian Somerhalder as the Devil, Lord of hell. No one can do it better other than Tom Ellis himself.

I’m glad we’re finally past the “the detective doesn’t know” phase. Now the story can really come alive. It’s only so long you can tell a compelling story when a major character like herself isn’t allowed to be in the know.
