Another great episode. Couldn't follow last week's main event but as a whole show it was better.

The Battle Royal was short and sweet which was fine by me as we got all the comedy we needed and the right guy won. Very intriguing to see Killshot and Fox team up after putting each other through hell last week.

Ivelisse vs. Catrina was the best it could be considering Catrina's level of experience in the ring. LOL at Dario's reactions during the match. Ivelisse finally got her revenge which was the right decision as it would have looked really bad for her to get screwed twice, get beaten down at every turn by Catrina, and come back from injury only to lose.

The angle after the match was really cool as well. Shows how much Crane desperately loves Catrina. If we get a Season 4, I'd love to see a Son of Havoc vs. Crane feud with Son of Havoc getting revenge for Ivelisse.

The main event was a great, bloody affair. Not as much weapons or brawling outside as I thought there would be but I guess they wanted to keep it in the ring and not try to to repeat Hell of War. Fenix did his thing. Moth played his character great. And the ending with Melissa is one of the few examples of a babyface "cheating" to win working.

And the final segment was a great payoff to everything Moth had done to Fenix and Melissa.

"So, LU’s decided to drop their TV exclusivity, and allow their wrestlers to appear on other wrestling groups TV. EVW mentions Ring of Honor, Impact, NOAH, and Stardom as promotions they’ve talked to open doors for their wrestlers. (This appears to already have been going on: Joey Ryan was announced as appearing in Ring of Honor this morning, and it would explain how Sami Callihan ended up in Impact.) EVW says these deals are under Dorian Roldan’s control, but they’re going to be negotiating with groups in hopes of getting their guys more TV exposure, hoping that helps LU as well. Van Wagenen presumes these opportunities will also be open to guys like Penta & Fenix who’ve left AAA, feeling time will probably fix those problems."

After Lucha Underground revealed Season 4 is now a reality, an executive producer of the show revealed contracts will be less stringent moving forward.

According to ProWrestlingSheet, the executive producer of Lucha Underground has acknowledged it wasn’t fair to keep talent off TV for up to a year between seasons, so he claims their exclusivity going forward will be “relaxed.”

Eric Van Wagenen told the Masks, Mats & Mayhem show that LU will be easing up on exclusive contracts because no one on their team expected LU to have a hiatus that lasted over one year. Additionally, it isn’t beneficial for either sides if a wrestler is kept off TV for that long.

“The Lucha Underground LLC partners are going to do a talent exchange with Impact, with Ring of Honor, with NOAH in Japan, Stardom.” Van Wagenen continued, “This is all under Dorian’s control, but we’re definitely gonna start letting our guys branch out. We’re gonna try to help negotiate relationships with other promotions so that our guys can get more TV exposure.”

He also admitted that originally LU was very territorial but now due to the relationship with Impact Wrestling, they’ve realized it only helps their company.

In regards to unhappy talent though, Van Wagenen says they’ve had release requests and they’ll be happy to grant them once the characters can be written out of story lines.

As for Rey Fenix and Pentagon Dark, Eric says he believes they’ll be back for Season 4.

As previously reported, much of the current talent for Lucha Underground were signed to seven season deals. At the time, this was fine as most of those who signed contracts were either not planning on going anywhere else on television, or were people who had no “major name” in the United States market to begin with. It’s possible that some of those talents could take their contracts to court because they weren’t paid at all during the summer of 2016. It begs the question of Lucha Underground being able to hold somebody to a contract from the summer of 2016 until the spring of 2018 without paying them.

According to new reports, Lucha Underground is willing to grant release requests to the talents who no longer want to be a part of their roster. That is a big deal as many had been thinking about filing lawsuits.
