It just doesn't make sense.
What difference does it make to me if women thought my brother was handsome? It wouldn't make any difference. What difference would it make to him if men thought I was attractive? It would to the extent that he would not want me taken advantage off but he certainly wouldn't care if men thought I was pretty. He may even take some pride in it and feel protective over me.
No one wants to be at the bottom and I think for black men, black women are the ONLY people in this whole world that he can reasonably and conceivably feel better than. It's painful to admit.
