There's a lot of James' and Bryants out there. But there are very few LeBrons and Kobes, both in terms of talent and uniqueness of name. If ESPN posts a headline saying, "Bryant out with a shoulder strain", you'd click it not knowing if they're talking about Dez, Kobe, or Kris. But when it's "Kobe out with a shoulder strain," you know right away. I just always assumed this was the logic behind it.
