magneto on film has been pretty much flawlessly played and portrayed.

I think what a lot of movie directors fail to realize about super hero movies is that people go to these movies to see their favorite hero do cool stuff. I don't really care about story lines or cinematic drama, just put the hero in a situations where you get to respect how cool he/she really is.

sometimes you need more though....i hear you though. The best scene of one of the worst recieved movies in the genre, superman returns, was superman saving the plane / space shuttle and landing it in the baseball stadium. that was RIGHT outta comics and extremely well executed.

Both McKellan and Fassbender have played Magneto well. Fassbender in First Class especially captured the essence of Magneto uncannily.
