I went to a big ten school as well and my grades weren't amazing but they were in the 3s.

edit now that I read your op again I guess my grades were a lot better.

The general consensus is that an MBA is useless unless you have worked first. At a top tier program, you do more networking than actual work at an MBA program.

To get into a top 25 MBA program you will need:

700+ GMAT
4-5 years of solid experience, demonstrating achievement and leadership
Great recommendations (curated ones from people who have supervised you and know you well)
Strong extra-curricular activities, so start volunteering, demonstrate leadership and impact
For each school you want to apply to, attend MBA information sessions, talk to alumni, visit campus

My advice: if you don't have 100+Gs and 2 years to burn, its probably not worth it.
