Madison was a hater and low key ruined the potential relationship between Mason and Meg. Meg wasn't mature enough to realize she shouldn't even be entertaining any conversation with Madison in the first place. It's an experiment and they are all going to date each other so it was best to let him choose then to compare notes. Then Meg shutting down with the silent treatment on the other dude wasn't good either.
