It's actually worse than that because apparently getting engaged wasn't the only criteria as cast members were told that to even go on the trip to Mexico they had to be one of the first six couples to get engaged which put even further pressure/strain on these 'relationships'. There were other couples who actually DID get engaged but got zero screen time and no Mexico trip because they weren't part of the first 6.
And while I understand producers do certain things to up the ante and fish for better ratings, this particular requirement seemed super grimy and unnecessary to me. People are tuning in because they want to see this 'social experiment' play out so I see no reason to raise the stakes so high that there were only a small number of slots to fill. They could've finessed another 3-6+ episodes if they got rid of the "first 6" rule and let things happen organically.

Caught the last episode yesterday.
Deepti hitting Shake with the L was telegraphed from a MILE away. How you gonna be unattracted to your woman, and tell everyone around her, BUT her?
I'm also not sure how there's an argument over him trying to talk himself out of the L, either. Homie really said "Yeah, if I would've said yes, she would've said yes," and "Oh, we're definitely going to stay friends," nah fam, you got fukking bushed.
Natalie is absolutely insane for thinking that she could still work things out with Shayne. Dude is a giant insecure kid that needs constant validation, had anger issues, and says all kinds of reckless shyt that he doesn't expect any pushback on. That's a motherfukker who is almost guaranteed to put hands on his woman at some point.
Two seasons deep on this, and the only thing this "experiment" had proven is that a significant portion of people are thirsty for marriage just because they're convinced that's what you're supposed to do.
My friend said this too. Shayne would have one of those family murder suicides. He has some deeper issues that need to be resolved. Something must have happened to him. The other white guy on Married at First Sight had a similar disposition and he was dealing with his friend's death and trauma. His dad dying months before didn't help at all.
Underline: Most of these folks don't understand how desperate they come off. They were in the pod for 10 days; together for almost a month. Some of the things they said seemed so forced. "My best friend" "I have never told anyone this" "love of my life". It hasn't even been 30 days. Y'all saying stuff just to say.
No homo but Shake is tooto be that shallow and place that much importance on weight.
His audacity needs to be studied. Grey-haired, Bad Bodied, and Rude. Yet, he felt as if he was doing her a favor. He really didn't see that they are equally yoked.

Yeah that's why Shake wasn't wrong in saying there was a certain pressure to go forward with the process even if they wasn't choosing the right person. They wanted to continue on with the experiment and there is some element of that in there.

Watching this Shayne had to be on hard drugs or have ADD or a mental disorder. He couldn't sit still lol.
Facts Shake had a point, he said it weird saying love is blurry but I know what he meant. Essentially physical attraction is a component when it comes to love. It's not being shallow but it's just the truth. Some people can over look someone physically not being up to par or they can settle with dating someone who isn't a super model or whatever but there has to be some level of physical attractiveness for most people.

I only found a couple pics on my phone. I'd have to look in my storage to find hardrives from that era. I was into street photography then so i'd just link with girls in the city, hang out and take photos. the 2nd one I took was a candid while we were at lunch.
