I'm trying to watch this. It's kinda cringe that the only brotha on the show and the Black/Black relationship is looking dysfunctional. It's not a good look especially considering this is one of the hottest shows at the moment.

The producers know damn well they could have found a well-to-do non-DL brotha. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but tha 'Genda is in effect. It's the same reason you never see a Black man on a sexually charged TV program like The Bachelor.
Anytime a black man is put up in a place of comparison to a white dude, he going to be made into a not threatening entity e.g. gay, handicapped, physically unattractive, etc.

Considering they had around 4 black women, and only 2 black men, one CLEARLY gay (and I read he was on Real Housewives Of Atlanta as a full gay man) the producers definitely knew what they were doing. And black people can speak perfect grammar, and most of the time, you know we’re black by our voices.
They chose that white guy Cameron knowing he likes black women. There were other couples who got engaged, but they didn’t have enough crew to film all of them. Of course, they chose the black woman and the white man. I think the industry is much more open to IR relationships when the man is white.

He started dating one of the other black women. I don’t think they got engaged. When they filmed this, it hadn’t been picked up by Netflix yet, so the budget was small, and they couldn’t film all the couples.
