A good stand-up is a synchronous combo of delivery/energy and content. The biggest performers usually lean towards energy, doesn't mean they're wack, but when was the last time you saw a film that entered your top 5 list that was directed by Michael Bay? TBH Hart and someone like Dane Cook are probably capable of smarter comedy than they're putting out, but they want the numbers, lowest common denominator etc. I look at their specials like Rock movies, they're fun but we're not talking Daniel Day-Lewis performances here.
